The cottage has a small view of the lake. It's a very pleasant place and has a great view of the community. It has a shaded lot and is always nice and cool. There is a jungle walk very near the cottage for owners only. The walk goes through the rainforest to the Lake, where you often see Hummingbirds, Toucans and Howler Monkeys.
There are about 20 houses in the English speaking gated community of Las Flores, surrounded by rainforest.
The cottage has excellent construction with solid teak rafters and soffits. Solid concrete and wire construction. A red tile roof. It has a new washer/dryer, refrigerator, and range. There is a double parking space across from the cottage steps on the right side of the road. You can park two cars, front to back. The rock wall is hand built and very beautiful.
The community and the house are very quiet, especially after dark (5:30 every day on the equator). The place locks down very nice for when you're away, and the owners never had any issues with crime. The lot is everything inside the rock walls. The two large shade trees have beautiful red flowers in March or April and the ground is covered with red buds. Also there are no mosquitoes in Lake Arenal and you won't need air conditioning. The temperature is around 75 to 85 degrees all year and drops to around 65 degrees at night.
All furnishings go with the cottage. Stewarts Title Insurance on the property and Homeowners insurance on the home and contents. The taxes are less than $100 per year, the water $5 a month unlimited and the electric is $5 a month when not used and $15 a month when in use.
