Within 20 minutes drive, you are in Jacó, home to banks, tour services, golf, deep sea fishing, marina, large supermarkets, restaurants of every kind, and night life. Within an hour, you can be visiting Manuel Antonio national park or Carrara national park, Canopy tours, and a multitude of other tourist attractions and activities.
The quaint and friendly small town of Esterillos Oeste offers a variety of restaurants, a small well stocked supermarket, and great atmosphere at the 2 local beach bars, the Low Tide Lounge, and the Reef. Everything within a 5 to 10 minute walk, including bus service to nearby towns, and San José.
It's paradise with birds and parrots of every kind, including gorgeous Scarlet Macaws which fly directly overhead just about every day. It's also not uncommon to see toucans, sloth, monkeys and other wildlife otherwise only seen on the Discovery channel.
