 Town of Garza

Garza is a small fishing village located between the beach resorts of Samara and Nosara on the Nicoya Peninsula. The Nicoya Peninsula extends down in a southerly direction on the northern part of the Pacific side of Costa Rica. Compared to the Caribbean side, the Pacific side of the country receives much less rain. It has a dry season from approximately December to April , and a refreshing wet season where foliage greens up lushly, from May to November. The rains come down with vigor, but usually only in the afternoon, as the mornings are sunny, and the evenings can vary in precipitation. There are small mini supers or grocery stores within a short distance, which carry essentials and liquor. Several restaurants abound in the Garza area, more if one ventures to Samara or Nosara, with good food for everyone’s tastes. Seven beaches, including the local Garza beach, are within easy driving distance

The nearest larger town to Garza, where one will likely shop for all amenities, is Nicoya. It has super mercados, medical clinics, hardware stores, clothing stores, video rentals, police, a hospital—pretty much everything you will need. It is 1.5 hours away. The nearest big city is the capital of the province of Guanacaste, Liberia, 2.5 hours away. There you should find most everything, including the second of the two international airports in Costa Rica. There are plans to expand it. There are also small airports for commuter planes all over Costa Rica. The closest one to Garza is in Nosara, 20 minutes drive away. Should you need to go to the capital of the country, San Jose is 5.5 hours drive away. This can be done by car, bus, transport van, or one of the small airlines such as SANSA or Nature Air.
